Chocolate Walnut Pie

Just don't call it Derby Pie! :)

Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked pie crust for a 9-inch pie
  • cup walnuts chopped
  • cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup flour all-purpose
  • ½ cup butter 1 stick, melted and cooled
  • 2 eggs lightly beaten
  • 2 TB bourbon
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Shape pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate and crimp the edges.
  • Spread chocolate chips and chopped walnuts evenly into the crust-lined plate.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together the sugar and flour. Add eggs, melted butter, vanilla and bourbon. Stir until smooth. Pour on top of chocolate chip/walnut layer.
  • Bake in 350F oven for 40-45 minutes, or until set.
  • Allow to cool fully before cutting.
