Sauteed Mushrooms and Onions

An easy side dish to go with almost everything!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 yellow onion sliced
  • 16 oz mushrooms sliced
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • Dash of cooking sherry sweet white wine can be substituted
  • Dash of tamari or soy sauce

Instructions

  • Melt butter and olive oil in a large skillet on medium heat.
  • Add onion. Cook and stir for 1-2 minutes to start to soften.
  • Add mushrooms and stir to coat with buttery oil.
  • Cook 7-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onions are soft and mushrooms are beginning to brown.
  • Add garlic. Cook and stir for about a minute.
  • Add sherry and tamari and stir. Continue cooking for a couple minutes, until liquid evaporates.
  • Season with a little salt and pepper and serve!
