Cranberry Sauce Crumble Bars

Use your leftover cranberry sauce to make these easy and delicious bars!

Ingredients

Dough

  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 1 egg yolk

Filling

  • 2 cups cranberry sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375F. Prepare an 8x8 pan by greasing or lining with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together the sugar, flour and baking powder. Use a fork or pastry cutter to blend in the butter and egg. Dough will be crumbly.
  • Press half the dough into the prepared pan.
  • Spread the cranberry sauce over the dough to make an even layer. Crumble remaining dough over the cranberry layer.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until top is slightly brown. Cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

Less sauce can be used, the cranberry layer will just be a little thinner. You can also supplement the cranberry sauce with a little fruit jam if desired.
