Old Fashioned Sloppy Joes

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion chopped (about ⅓ - ½ cup)
- ⅓ cup green pepper chopped (about ½ a medium pepper)
- 1 rib celery chopped
- ¾ cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard prepared
- ¼ cup water
In a skillet over medium heat, begin to cook the ground beef with the onion, green pepper and celery. Stir and break up the meat as it is starting to brown. Continue cooking until the meat is fully brown and the vegetables are soft, about 7 to 10 minutes.

Add ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and water. Mix to combine. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 10 minutes.

Serve over split toasted hamburger buns.
Store any leftover sloppy joe mix in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
You can substitute tomato sauce for the ketchup, if desired.
