Ingredients

  • 2 ounces tequila silver
  • ounce Cointreau orange liqueur
  • 1 ounce prickly pear syrup
  • 1 ounce lime juice

For garnish

  • 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon simple or agave syrup or use the lime wedge
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  • Mix turbinado sugar and kosher salt in a small cup. Spread out onto a small plate.

  • Moisten the rim of the glass with agave syrup (water or simple syrup also work), then dip into the sugar/salt mixture to coat.

  • Add tequila, Cointreau, prickly pear syrup and lime juice to an ice filled cocktail shaker. Cover and shake vigorously.

  • Fill the prepared glass with ice, then strain the cocktail over the ice to fill the glass.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge and enjoy.

Notes

For a sweeter drink, increase the prickly pear syrup to 1½ ounces.
