    Why You'll Love This Recipe

If you're like me, you love margaritas, they are such a fun and versatile drink. Using a sour apple liqueur gives the traditional margarita the essence of a poison apple.

It's super fun and wicked good!

    Ingredients Needed

Ingredients: sour apple schnapps, tequila, agave syrup, lime juice, and garnishes: black salt and edible glitter.

How to Make this Enchanting Poison Apple Margarita

Margaritas are easy and fun to make. Simply combine tequila with liqueur (in this case, sour apple schnapps) plus fresh-squeezed lime juice and sweetener. I use agave syrup, but if you like to use simple syrup feel free to do so.

Pouring the schnapps into the cocktail shaker.

It's even more fun to "decorate" the margarita. I used black salt to rim the glass to give it a suitably creepy look.

    And of course, edible glitter.

    Green edible glitter.

The glitter deepens the color of the margarita to a very strong green, plus adds a little magical sparkle to the cocktail. It makes it look a little bit mysterious and a whole lot of fun!

    Serving Suggestions

Serve this cocktail at your next Halloween gathering! The sparkling glitter will mesmerize your guests as they gaze into the glass!

    Recipe FAQs

    Is the edible glitter required?

Of course not! Without the glitter your cocktail will have a very pale greenish hue from the sour apple schnapps. Which is perfectly acceptable. The glitter makes the deep green color and, of course, the sparkles. 😁

Can I use flavored tequila for this recipe?

Certainly! While I've never tried it, I think a little cinnamon flavor would be a great match with the sour apple. Yum!

I can definitely see this with our next Halloween party, it looks so fun. Now I'm not the biggest fan of sour apple, so I defiantly will try the cinnamon flavoured liquor. That sounds yummy.

Keep in mind that you can control the sour with the agave syrup. Nut cinnamon is a lovely flavor to add as well. Enjoy! 🙂
